LANSING, Mi (Great Lakes News) – For the first time in history, Michigan’s State of the State address will take place virtually on January 27.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s third State of the State will be the first one not delivered in the House chamber in front of crowds of lawmakers, other elected officials, and invited guests.

“Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the State of the State address will be held virtually, in compliance with CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the state of Michigan’s best practices,” Whitmer said in a news release.
