Katie Heid

Anchor/News Director

Katie Heid works as an anchor and news director of Great Lakes News and has been with the company since its launch in 2015. She’s a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and holds a Master’s Degree from the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She’s a former disc jockey, television reporter, and college professor. Katie also works as a member of her church’s speaking team and serves as its communications coordinator. When she’s not scouring the state for news, she blogs at UncomfortableGrace.com and enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.

Cheryl Fritze

Radio News Anchor

Cheryl Fritze is a radio news anchor for Great Lakes News Network, as well as a television commercial spokesperson, voice over artist and public speaker throughout the state of Michigan. Cheryl is a former evening news anchor, reporter and assignment editor at WLNS TV 6, the CBS affiliate in Lansing. Cheryl is the former co-host of ‘The Morning Blend’ on Fox 47, and radio talk show host of ‘Fritze and Friends’ on WILS, as well as co-host of ‘The Michigan Gourmet’ on WKAR. Cheryl has been called upon by the Ingham County Circuit Court to coordinate media for high profile trials. A graduate of Hillsdale College, Cheryl began her career in media as a disc jockey at WIBM in Jackson, Michigan.

Shawn Liverance

Sports Reporter

Shawn Liverance graduated from Northern Michigan University before embarking on nearly a 20-year career in the journalism field. He worked for 17 years as a sportswriter for The Muskegon Chronicle mainly focusing on high school sports. He then joined MLive Media Group’s high school sports desk as a sportswriter before joining The Local Sports Journal, a website that focuses on local high school sports in the Muskegon, Michigan area. You can hear Shawn on the radio every Friday night as part of The High School Football Game of the Week on WLCS 98.3 FM co-hosting both the pre-game and post game studio shows.

Andy Delancey

Radio Reporter

Andy Delancey is a radio reporter for Great Lakes News Network and anchor for its Soo affiliates. He has worked in the broadcasting industry for more than 20 years. He started in high school as an intern and production assistant at WPBN/WTOM in Traverse City, Michigan. Since then he has produced television news in Grand Rapids, Tampa, New York City and West Palm Beach. He also has a passion for radio, with stints as an on-air personality at WKPK in Gaylord and WAY-FM in Grand Rapids. Andy was news director for several years for the Smile FM Radio network based out of Lansing. When he’s not working, Andy likes to travel, binge-watch TV shows and spend time with his rescue dog, Lucky. He has also dabbled at stand-up comedy.
