Cheryl Fritze

Director of News Operations

Cheryl Fritze is Director of News Operations for Michigan News Source as well a radio news anchor for the network. Cheryl also is a television commercial spokesperson, voice over artist and public speaker throughout the state of Michigan.

Cheryl is a former evening news anchor, reporter and assignment editor at WLNS TV 6, the CBS affiliate in Lansing. Cheryl is the former co-host of ‘The Morning Blend’ on Fox 47, and radio talk show host of ‘Fritze and Friends’ on WILS, as well as co-host of ‘The Michigan Gourmet’ on WKAR.

Cheryl has been called upon by the Ingham County Circuit Court to coordinate media for high profile trials. A graduate of Hillsdale College, Cheryl began her career in media as a disc jockey at WIBM in Jackson, Michigan.

Katie Heid

Anchor/Reporter

Katie Heid is an anchor and writer. She’s been with the company since its launch in 2015.

She’s a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and holds a master’s degree from the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Katie is a former disc jockey, television reporter, and college professor.

When she’s not scouring the state for news, she loves spending time with her husband and two sons.

Adam P. Ledyard grew up in the Midwest and has worked in collegiate athletics for over 20 years. He has worked two major bowl games in Orlando, Fla., and Shreveport, La. The athletic communications veteran helps promote colleges and universities athletic departments and student-athletes for awards and championships working with local and national media. His collegiate works have brought him to Florida, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, and Ohio. He earned his bachelor’s degree in general speech and broadcasting from Olivet Nazarene University and a Master’s Degree in Business from East Texas Baptist. He and his wife, Thea, have four boys aging from 13 to six years old.

Ron Rademacher

Travel Writer

Ron is a working author writing about Michigan since 1999. He has six books in print about road trips to out of the way destinations on the back roads of Michigan.

Ron maintains two travel websites, www.michiganbackroads.com and www.upnorthmichigan.com , and a web based monthly email newsletter, www.travelinmichigan.com .

He contributes monthly articles to the Michigan newspapers Great Lakes Pilot, the Drummond Island Digest.

You can listen to short podcasts on www.mibackroads.com and enjoy short videos of his explorations on the Michigan Back Roads YouTube Channel.

Ron travels regularly around the state for storytelling presentations to libraries, museums, and other groups.

He has been described as an explorer, writer, storyteller, and the man who holds the record for getting lost the most times on the back roads of Michigan.

Tim Ellis

Joining the team in November of 2021, covering the U.P. and Northern Lower Michigan.

He is a 1996 graduate of Central Michigan University, with his Bachelor’s in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts, and has been working in radio since then in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie.

In 2018, he and his wife decided to take the ultimate leap of Faith and bought a radio station in The Soo, Eagle 95.1 – WUPN – Your Home For Classic Hits.  You will find him hosting the Rise-N-Shine Morning Show, Monday through Friday from 6am – 10am.

Tim is a published author of two books, and currently working on his third.  And when he is not working in radio, or news, he enjoys being on the road speaking about his books.

He loves everything Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Lions.

He is a proud Yooper and Michigander, and enjoys a nice cold Michigan Craft Beer.

Tim is married to his wife Lindsay Ellis and together they are the proud parents of five Fur-Babies (3 Dogs / 2 Cats).

JP Isbell has been a graphic designer for 35 years and a freelance writer for about 20.
 
She currently resides in beautiful northern lower Michigan but grew up downstate near Lansing. In between those two places, she lived in Nashville, Tennessee and was a designer for the country music industry.
 
Her passions include politics, pet advocacy, veterans and Alabama football
