LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson broke the law.

A Michigan Court of Claims judge has ruled Benson broke state law when she created rules about evaluating absentee ballots.

Chief Judge Christopher Murray ruled Benson did not have the power to create the rules. He said those ruled should have been created by the legislature.

Allegan County Clerk Bob Genetski filed a lawsuit in October and the ruling came down on March 9.

In addition, the ruling served as vindication for former President Donald Trump’s claim that Benson acted illegally.
