LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and former Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MSHHS) Director Robert Gordon have agreed to drop a confidentiality clause in a separation agreement Gordon signed when he resigned in January.
Both Whitmer and Gordon have come under fire for his more than $155,000 payout after his abrupt January resignation.

Michigan residents have questioned what Gordon knew about Whitmer’s nursing home policy which placed COVID-19 positive patients into nursing homes with healthy people.
Since Gordon’s resignation, several other separation agreements with silencing clauses surfaced, including former health department coworker Sarah Esty and former Unemployment Insurance Agency Director Steve Gray.
