DETROIT, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Rainfall through much of this week has Michigan residents worried about flooding once again.

Rain is expected to continue on the east side of the state through Saturday morning before pleasant weather peaks through Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids said early Thursday: “Expect a cool, blustery fall morning with rain showers as you head out for the day. The steadier rain through 8 a.m. will be roughly near and west of areas like Grand Rapids and Battle Creek, but there will be plenty of on-and-off showers elsewhere.”

Meanwhile, The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department says it has experienced only minor flooding this week from several days of rain.  Some people do have flooded basements, but DWSD deputy director Palencia Mobley says the storm was not as bad as previous ones this summer.

88,000 customers throughout Michigan are without power after rain and high winds.
