MARSHALL, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Attention Kmart shoppers: the last store open in Michigan will hold its final blue light special soon.

The Kmart in Calhoun County’s city of Marshall plans to shut down by November 21.

The Detroit Free Press reports the store is hiring temporary employees to help close up.

The Marshall store has been the final holdout in Michigan since last year, and it’s the only big-box store in the immediate area.

The Kmart brand started in 1962 in Garden City, Michigan.  It’s unclear how many Kmart stores are left in the U.S.
