LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – 911 dispatchers are in short supply in Michigan and around the country.
There are more than 100 open 911 dispatcher positions in Michigan.

The shortage is also forcing dispatchers to work longer shifts, with some workers putting in 12 hours days.
