LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Here’s some news that might really bug you.

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has issued its “Bug Baromoter” forecast for the fall and winter in Michigan.

The group’s entomologists say the Great Lakes should see the highest levels of stinging insects until temperatures start to drop.

Extremely cold temperatures and below-average snowfall this winter may also send rodents indoors earlier than normal.  The NPMA says rodents can spread dozens of diseases, and can start electrical fires by chewing through wood and wires.

The group is also warning of boxelder bugs and cluster flies heading inside to warm up.

NPMA advises that you call a licensed pest control progression at the first sign of problems.
