DETROIT (Great Lakes News) – Michigan-based Carhartt is mandating its employees get the COVID-19 vaccine, and that’s sparked outrage and calls for boycotts.

A January 14 internal memo from CEO Mark Valade surfaced on social media. The memo focuses on the Dearborn, Michigan-based company’s response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling striking down the Biden administration’s vaccine rules for companies with more than 100 employees.

Despite the ruling, Valade said that Carhartt would maintain its corporate policy of requiring its 5,500 workers to be vaccinated.
