LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Michigan health officials held a virtual press conference on Tuesday, urging Michiganders to wear a double mask in public to keep from spreading COVID-19.
They also reiterated the same advice they’ve given during the past year: get vaccinated.

Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, Michigan’s chief medical executive and Elizabeth Hertel, Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) said the omicron surge not expected to peak until the end of February at the earliest.
Last week, Michigan topped 100,000 cases in a single week.
In addition, five Michigan hospitals have been assigned teams of federal health care workers to help manage the strain.
