LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Gas prices in Michigan have taken a huge jump, gaining a staggering 42-cents per gallon in the past week.

AAA Michigan says the average price is now $3.97 per gallon, up 60-cents in the last month and a $1.25 more than last year.

Gas stations in Marquette charged the highest price at $4.07 while Traverse City’s $3.86 marked the lowest.

The record high for Michigan is $4.11, set in July 2008.
