DETROIT (Great Lakes News) – Ford officials say they need to cut nearly 600 jobs in Michigan.

The automaker says salaried employees and contract workers in the engineering department are included in those cuts.

Officials said this is the latest adjustment as it shifts from building vehicles powered by internal combustion engines to focusing on electric vehicles.
