ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Five pieces of steel grating that used to be on the Mackinac Bridge are up for auction.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority says they each weigh about two tons and are five-and-a-half feet wide by 38 feet long and are five inches deep.
The pieces were in use for about 60 years.
The grates were originally coated with lead-based paint.
