MUSKEGON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Muskegon County will continue to sit on more than $600,000 of tax money from marijuana sales.

On Tuesday night, the county board voted against hiring six more correctional officers for the jail, which frustrated and disappointed Sheriff Michael Poulin.

Poulin said 48 officers work at the jail and the Michigan Department of Corrections recommends they have fifty-four.
