OXFORD, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A group of Oxford Community School parents are filing a federal lawsuit against the school district to make changes after a deadly shooting at the high school on November 30.

The group “change4oxford” is asking the district to correct violations of students’ rights to an effective and safe learning environment.

Attorney Scott Weidenfeller says the court has the power to make the school district execute safety policies and eliminate procedures that put students at risk.

The district has not commented on the lawsuit.
