DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – In an unexpected tweet on Monday, the National Weather Service in Detroit tweeted, “This is a friendly reminder that we’re now past our climatological warmest part of the
year and normal temperatures have begun their downward trend. It’s all downhill from
here and soon the snowflakes will be flying again.”

The tweet, as you would expect, did not go over well in Michigan in July while people are still camping, fishing, going to the beach and sunning themselves.

One person asked how this qualified as a ‘friendly” tweet.

Sarah Abt scolded them and tweeted, “You’re not allowed to ruin my summer!!! It’s still summer ’til that frost comes.”

Charles Barnes tweeted, “Looking forward to Lions, Pistons and Michigan football but not cold weather…”

Then, of course, there is one in every crowd. Sally D tweeted, “never enough snow!”

She had zero likes or re-tweets.

The NWS-Detroit responded to all of the upset snow-hating tweeters by stepping in it
again. They tweeted, “Would it help to know that sunset is now before 9pm and we’re
losing roughly 2 minutes of daylight each day?”

Kyle said, “wasn’t hitting the ‘tweet’ button on the first post bad enough?”
