LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Supreme Court will determine if voters get to decide the legality of abortion in Michigan.

On Wednesday, the Board of State Canvassers voted 2-2 along party lines on the proposed ballot initiative.

The group behind the proposal said they’re asking the Supreme Court to put the proposal on the Nov. 8 ballot.

If approved to go before voters, the ballot initiative would ask for abortion through all nine months of pregnancy to be enshrined in the Michigan Constitution.

The Nov. 8 ballot must be finalized by Sept. 9.
