STURGIS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The city of Sturgis is making changes, and owners with golf carts who drive them on the street should take note.

Sturgis is requiring all golf carts on city streets to have a special license plate with the registration sticker on it.

The sticker has only been required on the driver’s side of the golf cart, but police said it was too hard to determine if a vehicle was properly registered while behind or passing one.

The plate requirement is effective September 1, and people need to stop by the Sturgis Department of Public Safety before that day for a plate and sticker.
