DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Tommy Henry, who is the 13th ranked prospect in the D-backs’ farm system (per MLB Pipeline), has been called up to start for Arizona on Wednesday. He has most recently been pitching for Triple-A Reno with a 4-4 record and 3.83 ERA.

He was drafted in 2019 in the competitive balance B round with the 74th overall pick. He pitched three times in Short-A ball before the pandemic and sat out the 2020 season. In 2021, he made his debut in Double-A with a 5.21 ERA before making it to Triple-1 this season with 100 strikeouts in 108 innings pitched.

Henry was a standout pitcher for the Wolverines guiding them to the NCAA Men’s College World Series in 2019. Pitching just three seasons for Michigan (2017-2019), he was on the NCAA College World Series All-Tournament team and a Perfect Gam All-American. In the 2019 season, he went 12-5 with 135 strikeouts and a 3.27 ERA.
