ALGONAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – One St. Clair County school has punted on its varsity football season after a shortage of players has forced Algonac High School to cancel the season.
There will be no varsity football for Algonac High School this year. Coach Nick Matzka said there aren’t enough juniors and seniors wanting to play. Only a dozen have shown up to practice.

The school will have JV football with a roster of around 30 players. However, Matzka says they couldn’t bring up the younger players for varsity because they were not physically ready.
