MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has been asked by the county to take training after making sexual comments to female employees.

Lucido also made a case assignment based on an attorney’s race, and is being asked to get training for that as well. A nine-page memo, produced after a months-long investigation by Butzel Long law firm of workplace complaints, indicated 16 current and former employees of the prosecutor’s office were interviewed.

Lucido declined to be interviewed by the law firm.

According to the memo, nine people reported Lucido treating female secretaries in an offensive manner and less favorably than male staff. His actions toward female staff were described as “rude,” “curt,” “unprofessional” and “brutal.” At least two people reported that on Valentine’s Day Lucido said “that he would ‘like some kisses from his ladies,’” according to the memo.

The Michigan Senate also asked Lucido to take training after he sexually harassed several women at the Capitol while he was a senator. During the two year internal investigation while he was a state senator he said he never sexually harassed anyone.

Lucido is a countywide elected official, who was elected to a four-year term in 2020.
