ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Looking to defend their 2021 Big Ten Championship, the University of Michigan returns a majority of their offense including running back Ronnie Bell. The super star receiver is coming off an injury from early September 2021 and have something to prove this year.

“This season I fill the chip is the biggest that it has ever been. I feel like that is the only way to approach it. We are a target after the success we had last year. A lot of guys have accepted that this isn’t last year and this is our team and a new team and we need to go do what we need to do and we need to make a name for ourselves,” says Bell.

He will be surrounded by some great offensive tools in Corum Blake and two quarterbacks in J.J. McCarthy and Cade McNamara. Blake ran for 952 yards last year behind Hassan Haskins 1,327 yards and recorded 11 touchdowns. Both McCarthy and McNamara will battle for the starting quarterback position after splitting time last year. Also helping with receiving is Cornelius Johnson who had 627 yards and three touchdowns. Strengthening the offensive line, Michigan added Virginia Tech’s Olusegun Oluwatimi who was a Rimington Trophy finalist.

Michigan opens their 2022 season on September 3 vs. Colorado State.
