LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban has been ruled unconstitutional by Court of Claims Judge Elizabeth Gleicher.
According to our media partners at MIRS News, Judge Gleicher ruled that the ban violates the due process and equal protection clauses of the Michigan Constitution.

The statute, she noted, “is facially unconstitutional because its enforcement would deprive pregnant women of their right to bodily integrity and autonomy, and the equal protect of the law.”
The opinion closes Planned Parenthood of Michigan’s lawsuit against Attorney General Dana Nessel.
Gleicher also quoted a statute that provides Nessel the power to intervene in any action commenced by a prosecutor that she believes to be beyond their legal authority.
