DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – New coaching and new leadership have taken over the Detroit Red Wings in 2022 as they open the new season. The preseason schedule started on Tuesday night with a 6-2 win over Pittsburgh.

Domink Kubalik posted two goals as Detroit’s offense showed signs of strength. Kubalik’s goals came on a power play and once shorthanded. Filip Zandina Elmer Soderblom, Steven Kampfer, and Tyler Spezia all had goals.

Wednesday night brought the Chicago to Detroit as the Blackhawks took a 4-2 win. Adam Erne tied the game up at one in the first period just under a minute and half into the period.

Chicago retook the lead in first on a goal at the 14 minute mark. Erne posted his second goal of the game to tie it up in the second period just a minute in. Almost 14 minutes later, Chicago broke the tie for a 3-2 lead and then added a goal in the third period making it, 4-2.

Detroit will host the Washington Capitals on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
