FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The University of Michigan-Flint police department is lending a hand in Flint.

The U of M-Flint Department of Public Safety and Security is partnering with Flint Police to expand the departments patrols in the downtown area.

The goal is to increase Flint Police’s response times throughout the rest of the city.

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation gave the campus a grant worth $1.5 million to hire five new officers before 2023.
