LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Every year, the Michigan Manufacturer’s Association (MMA) hosts an awards ceremony that includes crowning the winner of the “Coolest Thing Made in Michigan.”

Monday marks  the last day to vote in the first round in order to pick the top 10 products out of the 40 nominees.

The next round narrows the choices down to three and then a final winner is revealed on November 10th in Lansing at the 2022 MFG Excellence Awards. The awards ceremony also showcases the Michigan Manufacturer of the Year, MFG Woman of the Year, MFG Emerging Leader, Talent Champion, Innovation Excellence, Community Impact and Lifetime Achievement award winner.

The People’s Choice contest for the “Coolest Thing Made in Michigan” started in 2018 to recognize the “most innovative, game-changing, groundbreaking, cutting edge products from the industry that employs over 630,000 and produces $102 billion in goods every year.”

In past years, the winners came from companies of all different sizes with an array of different products. The 2021 winner was the world’s largest hydraulic power unit from Exotic Automation & Supply in New Hudson, Michigan.
This years’ nominees include many interesting and creative products.

Voting in the first round of products ends Monday, September 19th and everyone is allowed to vote for four of their favorite products.

The goal of the MMA is to highlight the importance of Michigan-made products to millions of people who experience the benefits of using these products and the economic impact to all of those who call Michigan home.
