SAULT SAINT MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) continue to remind motorists and visitors to the U.P. that vehicle accidents this year with moose are on the rise.

One moose was killed and two people are recovering from minor injuries after their vehicle hit a moose on Saturday night in Alger County. Their vehicle sustained heavy damage.

According to the Michigan DNR, moose are currently found in two areas of the Upper Peninsula –  Marquette, Baraga and Iron counties, and in the Eastern U.P in Alger, Schoolcraft, Luce and Chippewa counties.
