LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan is waiting for a post-debate poll involving Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and GOP challenger Tudor Dixon to see if their performances moved the needle in terms of voter support.

As voters play the waiting game, an Insider Advantage poll prior to last Thursday night’s performances proves this race just got interesting.

The Insider Advantage poll, which surveyed 550 likely voters on the two days prior to the October 13 debate, shows Gov. Whitmer is tied with Republican challenger Tudor Dixon (44 percent to 44 percent).

Media sites throughout Michigan overwhelmingly gave the first gubernatorial debate victory to Dixon. Perhaps that’s why former President Barack Obama is set to stump for Michigan Democrats on October 29, four days after the second and final gubernatorial debate.

Last week, Gov. Whitmer laughed off a reporter’s questions about whether she would invited President Joe Biden to campaign with her.

The same Insider Advantage poll that shows Whitmer and Dixon in a dead heat also highlighted President Biden’s abysmal 37% approval rating, which dropped 8 points from last month.
