LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – As November 8 approaches, state election officials say they are reminding residents of the secure voting process in place.
Officials say the secure process starts with the local clerks who document any problems in their precincts.

All elections are then reviewed at the county level. It’s during this process that any final issues must be resolved and then certified.
From there it goes to the state level where canvassers double check results before making them official.
The Secretary of State’s office has already said they do not expect to have the final unofficial results of the election until up to 24 hours after polls close due to the high absentee ballot turnout.
