LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A special prosecutor appointed by Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel to investigate her GOP opponent, Matt DePerno, said no decision will be made before Tuesday’s election.
Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson made the announcement on Friday afternoon.

The investigation revolves around whether DePerno, and eight others, should be charged for attempting to gain access to voting machines in the 2020 election.
Hilson said his office has been meeting with state police to review the investigation and facts of the case.
In August, Nessel asked the Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council, a state agency, to consider charges. She cited a potential conflict of interest in the case since DePerno is her opponent.
DePerno has accused Nessel of “weaponizing her office.”
Polls are open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
