ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The circus continues for the College Playoffs Committee as Utah upset #4 Southern California on Friday night, 47-24. With that loss for USC, the picture painted on Tuesday night by the committee was that there was a path for Ohio State to get in.

On Tuesday, USC was the fourth team in the playoff spot with an 11-1 record. Now they are a two-loss team that didn’t win a conference championship. Ohio State has one loss to #2 Michigan and is now sitting nicely for the fourth spot or higher.

Also on the horizon is the Big 12 Championship between #3 Texas Christian and #10 Kansas State. If TCU loses, it will also shake up the rankings as they may still have a chance to make it in with one loss. There is also the SEC championship with #1 Georgia facing #14 LSU.

If Ohio State gets in, it will be the first time the Big Ten will have two teams in the playoffs and a possible first round “THE GAME” rematch. If TCU loses, Ohio State could sneak to #3 and Michigan stays at #2 if Georgia wins setting up the rematch. If that doesn’t happen, Ohio State could be #4 playing #1 Georgia and the Buckeyes could play Michigan in the national championship if both teams could win their first round games.

In the end, no matter what, it’s looking pretty good for the Big Ten.
