DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – After a six-game road trip, the Detroit Pistons have been at home for the past four games. They still haven’t been able to find the winning bug yet falling three out of the last four games. On Monday night, the Memphis Grizzlies came to town with Ja Morant and took a 122-112 decision as the Pistons fell to 6-19 overall and 4-8 at home.

Saddiq Bey led the team with 24 points and six rebounds. Bojan Bogdanovic then added 18 points as Killian Hayes had 13 points and both Jaden Ivey and Hamidou Diallo 10 points. Memphis had five players in double digits as Morant led the way with 33 points. Memphis made 46 percent of their shots and 42 percent from the arc while Detroit was at 44 percent from the floor and just 37 percent from three.

Detroit never had the lead in the game from the beginning as Memphis jumped out to a 9-2 lead. Hayes hit a three-pointer with 8:30 left in the first period to pull within two, 11-9, as that is as close as Detroit would come the rest of the game. Memphis went on a 12-2 run for a 23-11 lead and ended the first quarter up by 14 points, 40-26.

Memphis kept their distance in the second quarter but the Pistons were within five, 47-42, with 8:32 left on a Kevin Knox II three-pointer. Bey then made one free throw 30 seconds later as Detroit was making a move to within four, 47-43. With just under five minutes to play, Memphis had moved their lead to 10, 59-49, and had a 12-point lead at the half, 69-57.

By the 7:56 mark of the third quarter, Memphis had an 18-point lead, 80-62. Detroit came no closer than 11 points in the quarter as the Grizzlies were back up 18, 101-83, entering the fourth quarter.

With 4:20 to go in the game, Isaiah Stewart made a three-pointer to put Detroit within 14, 116-102. Diallo then added a two-point shot with 1:45 left to cut the lead to nine, 119-110. Bey had a driving layup with 16.1 seconds left to put it at an eight-point game, 120-112, as that is as close as Detroit would come with Memphis taking the game, 122-112.
