DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Are the Detroit Lions for real? Sunday proved they are with their most complete game of the year scoring 40 points and only allowing 14 in a blowout victory over Jacksonville. Jared Goff threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns going 31-of-41 with  115.0 passer rating – by far one of his best in his time at Detroit.

Goff’s 75.6 completion percentage is the third highest in franchise history among quarterbacks with at least 40 passes in a game. Campbell said of Goff, “Our quarterback played as good as you can play. I think he played well as any quarterback can play today. We knew he needed a big game; it was a completion game. I thought he was on fire.”

Goff’s touchdown passes went to Amon-Ra St. Brown of 10-yards and four-yards as he finished with 114 yards receiving and 11 receptions. Goff said, “It was clean pockets (up front) all day long, and guys were getting open, and we knew what kind of game it was going to be with the coverages they play.”

The offense finished with 437 yards as 337 were in the air. D’Andre Swift had 62 yards rushing with one touchdown and Jamaal Williams added 35 yards rushing and one touchdown. DJ Chark posted a great game for one of his best catching six balls for 98 yards averaging 19.6 yards per catch.

Rivaling Goff for a great day was kicker Michael Badgley going 4-of-4 making them from 45, 47, 38, and 44 yards. He is now 15-of-16 on the year in field goals and 18-of-18 in extra points. Campbell adds, “He’s kicking it well. Once again he came through big for us. I got a lot of faith in him. He’s earned that.”

Detroit scored 23 points in the first half with a 17-point lead at the half, 23-6. The Lions took a 14-3 lead in the first quarter on a Williams one-yard run and a St. Brown 10-yard reception. Badgley then made three field goals in the second quarter from 45, 47, and 38 yards.

Jacksonville’s only touchdown came in the third quarter after Swift ran it in for Detroit making it 30-14. In the fourth quarter, Badgley nailed a 44-yard field goal and then St. Brown recorded his second touchdown to make it a 40-14 final.
