ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan’s powerful basketball brand will be showcased in London on Sunday as they take on a storied program in Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. This will be the first time that Michigan has played in Europe and fifth time in program history to play outside of the United States. Earlier this summer, the team took a trip to Greece and Italy playing exhibition games.

The team took a seven-hour flight getting there on Thursday for a practice and some site seeing. On Friday, they had the chance to go to Chelsea FC to visit the iconic soccer venue.

Joey Baker says, “This is incredible. Just the history of the club and all the great players and great memories of the sport associated with it, it’s really cool to see in person.”

Both Kentucky and Michigan toured the facility as head coach Jalen Rose and Kentucky coach John Calipari chatted some in between.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2014’s NCAA Elite Eight game and will be the eighth meeting. Kentucky holds the advantage, 5-2, with Michigan’s last win on April 3, 1993, in the Final Four, 81-78, in overtime.

Michigan is led by Hunter Dickinson’s 19.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Jett Howard has produced 21 three-pointers scoring 15.1 points per game.

The game will be on ABC on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
