WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters (D-Michigan) both voted “yes” on Thursday to provide $858 billion for national defense and rescind the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for the military.
In addition, the Senate voted on a continuing resolution to fund the government through Friday, Dec. 23.

The measure, which passed 83-11, provides a one-week stopgap measure temporarily averts a government shutdown by continuing to fund the government when the current measure expires on Dec. 16.
The bill now heads to President Joe Biden’s desk for a signature.
