The meeting at 7 p.m. in the East Lansing High School auditorium follows several weeks of lockdowns, a protest, a cancelled basketball game, a day of cancelled classes, and a “listening session” with the mayor.

Students walked out of class Thursday, two days after a lockdown at the school which eventually revealed no threat.

Administrators cancelled the varsity basketball game on Thursday night, along with classes on Friday.

The Uvalde Foundation opened an independent investigation into the safety concerns at the request of students and parents. The foundation was formed after the May 24, 2022 shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas which killed 19 children and two adults.
