LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and the Michigan State Police will be working with police agencies across Michigan to educate drivers as to what they can do to stop the growing problem.

Police will be working to reach commercial drivers, public transportation companies, truck stop employees and rest area workers who may be in a position to recognize a human trafficking situation.

Troopers will be handing out National Human Trafficking Hotline window decals and wallet cards to motorists during traffic stops throughout the week.

Anyone who observes suspected human trafficking is encouraged to call the National Human Trafficking Resources Center at 888-373-7888, or text “BeFree” to 223733.
