HOLLAND, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Updated January 23, 2023 at 12:06 p.m. Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle crashed into Lake Macatawa on Sunday, leaving a 52-year-old man dead and two young children searching for help.

Law Enforcement discovered the body of Jon Dowler of Otsego after he allegedly drove the vehicle into the water in the early hours on Sunday. Two children, ages 8 and 10, escaped the vehicle and huddled together on a nearby porch before finding help. They were treated for cold exposure at a hospital and released.
Police are still investigating the crash as it’s unclear what lead up to the incident.
