WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – The Democratic Party approved the reordering of its 2024 presidential primary, and Michigan will be the fifth in line at the ballot box.

Members of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) voted on Saturday to replace Iowa with South Carolina in the leadoff spot. Three days later, New Hampshire and Nevada voters will head to the polls, followed by Georgia and Michigan.

It’s part of a major shake-up the party says is meant to empower Black and other minority voters critical to the party’s base of support.

Changes to the lineup are still possible throughout this year.
