EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The city of East Lansing is hemorrhaging officials, as its school board president, city clerk, and deputy clerk all announce resignations within a few days of each other.

East Lansing City Clerk Jennifer Shuster’s last day is Friday, Feb. 10, while Deputy City Clerk Kathryn Gardner will punch in for the last time on Friday, Feb. 3.

In January, the East Lansing City Council ousted City Manager George Lahanis. Members cited a change in leadership as part of the city’s “new direction.”

At a special East Lansing Public Schools Board Meeting on Monday to discuss ongoing safety problems at the high school, Board President Kath Edsall resigned her position. She will remain on the board, but the board will elect a new president at its next meeting.
