DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A new subscription service from automaker Stellantis has linked a deal with their first dealer in the United States located in metro Detroit.

The Free2Move service will allow people to subscribe and rent vehicles for a day, week, month or more. The service at Szott Automotive Group will begin in the summer featuring Jeep Wranglers, Ram 1500 pickups and other vehicles.

Officials with Free2Move say not everyone can afford to own a car but need one from time to time. Subscription plans for a month will start in the low 500-dollar range but that includes insurance and maintenance. The company recently announced they were ending a similar agreement in Columbus Ohio.

The company is also launching its dealership program, which has been running in Europe, to the U.S. This involves Free2move leasing its tech to car dealers so they can use their own fleets for rental, car-sharing or subscription services.
