WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – When the U.S. House and its Republican majority took up the “Denouncing the Horrors of Socialism Resolution” this week, which condemned that form of government and
the implementation of socialist policies in the United States,” two Democratic representatives from Michigan voted against it.

Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) and Rep. Shri Thanedar (MI-13) voted against the measure, along with 84 other Democrats. While Thanedar has been quiet on this issue since the vote, Tlaib appeared unapologetic on Twitter.

While some have chalked this resolution up as a partisan ploy by the GOP majority in the House, not all Democrats voted against it. Dan Kildee (MI-8), and Rep. Hailey Stevens (MI-11).

Michigan’s GOP representatives who voted in favor of the measure include Rep. Jack Bergman (MI-1), Rep. John Moolenaar (MI-2), Rep. Bill Huizinga (MI-4), Rep. Tim Walberg (MI-5), Rep. Lisa McClain (MI-9),  and rep. John James (MI-10).
