Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has issued 12 warrants for suspects connected to a
string of marijuana dispensary break-ins across the state. The charges include several felonies
with sentences ranging from ten years to life. Authorities were investigating a safe stolen from a
dispensary and thrown off the roof of a house and discovered that twenty related break-ins had
occurred around the same time. Nessel says this is an example of why Congress must pass the
Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act, allowing the cannabis industry to use the banking
system to safeguard funds.
