CADILLAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – What do axe throwing and fast Amazon delivery have in common? They will soon be a staple in the Northern Lower Michigan city of Cadillac. While the city already boasts its own axe throwing business, the opportunity for faster Amazon delivery in Cadillac is a new and welcomed operation.

The Cadillac News reports that Amazon is recruiting local business partners in Cadillac to deliver packages to customers in the Cadillac area. Amazon Field Acquisition Manager Julie Leach, said that in rural areas like Cadillac it came take longer to deliver packages to customers because of a lack of drivers. Because of that, partnering when local businesses can solve that problem and with the help of Cadillac’s Chamber of Commerce, approaching possible recruits to participate in the program will be made easier.

In fact, three businesses have already signed up. In order to partner with Amazon, businesses have to have worker’s compensation and general liability insurance and agree to delivery 20 to 50 packages a day.

Leach said, “Packages will be getting here quicker so that’s our main goal, we want those packages to our customers as fast as possible.”

Packages would come from the Saginaw processing facility and get transported directly to the participating businesses in Cadillac who would be delivering to customers within a 6-mile radius. Amazon is also offering a cash bonus to businesses who recruit other partners for the program.

And although the Amazon Delivery Partner Program is new to Cadillac, axe throwing is not. The Skeggox Axe Throwing company has been around for 16 months after having their grand opening in November of 2021 and from the looks of their recent television advertising and Facebook page, they have been drawing crowds.

You don’t even have to be a professional axe thrower to stop by and take a shot at axe throwing. The business has instructors to coach you on proper techniques and they advertise being a “safe and fun axe throwing facility.”
