EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – As the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament gets underway, Upper Peninsula native and Michigan State University head coach Tom Izzo will be making history.

Izzo will lead his Spartans onto the court on Friday afternoon, marking the 25th straight appearance in March Madness. In addition, Izzo will set an NCAA Tournament consecutive appearance record.

The previous record was set by Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski with 24 in a row from 1996-2019.

The seventh-seeded Spartans will face number 10-seed USC in the first round of the East Region on Friday at 12:15.
