EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan State University Men’s Basketball Team is headed to the Sweet Sixteen. They’ll go up against Kansas State on Thursday night in New York.

If you’re a superfan who will hit the road to cheer on the Spartans in person, be prepared to pay.

According to StubHub, tickets start at $170 in the “nosebleed” section. It’s a sliding scale depending on how close to the court you want to sit. Courtside will cost around $3,150 per ticket.

But it’s not just the tickets. It’s the travel, lodging, and food that must get factored in, too. The Spartans will be facing the Wildcats in New York City, which is roughly a 10-hour drive from Lansing to New York City. According to AAA, gas in Michigan costs around $3.43 per gallon. Driving through Ohio will save you a little on gas, with prices similar to Michigan’s gas stations in Pennsylvania and New York.

If you would rather fly, an average round-trip flight from both Lansing and Detroit airports costs roughly around $450. When you arrive, you’ll need money for a rental car, Uber, or cab. Staying the night means adding a hotel to your tab, and those in New York City can cost you anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

And you’ll need to eat. Madison Square Garden serves food, but that won’t be your only meal. A word of advice? Pack snacks for the road.
