DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – For the first time since the 1950s, the Detroit Lions will wear a helmet that is not silver for two games this upcoming season.
They unveiled their alternate helmet for the year yesterday, using Honolulu blue for the shell with a gray face mask. The Lion logo on the sides of the helmet is their logo from the 1960s.

The Lions plan on wearing the helmet on Monday Night Football in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders and Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Upon hearing the news, the internet weighed in.
Needs the current logo with a white lion. Then blue jersey/blue pants or maybe even white jersey/white pants. Just hire me @Lions , I got great ideas.

Love it! Always liked this logo. I do really like the all grey’s (and all whites) too, so maybe my taste isn’t the best.

Love the helmet but I feel like it doesn’t go with the all-grey uniforms. It’s a shame it’s not being worn with all-white. That would look 1000x better.
