DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The Pistons were handed their first loss in the NBA Summer League on Sunday afternoon and now are 1-1. Houston held off Detroit, 113-101, in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center.

Jalen Duren led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds going 10-of-14 from the floor. Jaden Ivey added 22 points and 10 assists for the second double-double on the team. James Wiseman grabbed 10 rebounds and 17 points for a double-double too. Ausar Thompson, the newest addition to the team from the NBA Draft, collected 12 points, six assists, and eight rebounds.

Detroit was down, 35-28, at the end of the first quarter and Houston made it a 19-point lead at the half, 62-43. Houston kept their distance in the third with a 92-76 advantage and extended their lead to 25-points in the fourth quarter, 105-80. Detroit’s defense held Houston to just eight points in the final six minutes of the game and almost four minutes of no scoring on a 13-0 run to come within 12, 105-93. Duren had a dunk off of a fast break steal to put Detroit within 12 points. Both teams scored eight points each in the final two and half minutes as the Rockets won, 113-101.

Detroit will play next on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. featured in ESPN 2 against Toronto.
