EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Two of the top teams in NCAA Division I basketball have reportedly come to an agreement to play each other in the upcoming year. Michigan State and Baylor University are expected to play in December in Detroit.

CBS Sports College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein reports that the two teams are finalizing an agreement to play on December 16 at Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit. Before the report, Detroit News reporter Tony Paul became the first to write about the rumor of the potential matchup.

This would add to MSU’s already hard schedule of playing Duke and Arizona at a neutral site and hosting Butler University at home. MSU has been predicted to be in the top 10 this season as one of the top teams in the country.

These two teams have met twice in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas in 2016 and 2021. MSU fell in both games, 73-58, and 75-58, in the only two meetings.
