EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan State University student Nate Statly has spent the last five months in the hospital after being shot in the head during the February 13 mass shooting on campus.

Medical professionals say Statly has beaten the odds in intensive care and rehab, and he will go home soon. However, he will likely spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. That’s why his family is asking the community to help them with the purchase of a mobility van as Statly prepares to go home. It will also be a much-needed tool as he goes back and forth to his ongoing medical and therapy appointments.

Earlier fundraisers for Statly on GoFundMe raised more than $300,000. The family says between doctor appointments and expensive modifications to their home, they are in need of other tools to help in Statly’s recovery.
